Today, AFSC-Arizona launches our ReFramingJustice Postcard Generator, which provides a platform for everyone across the state to tell lawmakers why they should pass comprehensive #sentencingreform and choose healing & accountability over punishment & more prisons.
After just a few clicks and answers to a few questions, advocates can create a postcard that will be delivered safely and socially distant by our ReFraming Justice Leaders to the Arizona House & Senate Judiciary Committees on Jan. 25, 2021.
There is no cost to anyone who wants to fill out a postcard; AFSC-Arizona will cover the postage.
AFSC-Arizona contracted with Unloop, a Seattle-based organization that provides a pathway to a career in software development for people marginalized by a conviction, to create the #PostcardGenerator. We are so thankful for their contributions!
If all of us use this tool, we could flood the halls of the legislature with THOUSANDS of messages of support for people who are incarcerated across Arizona.
Let’s do this!

Dear Arizona Legislator:
Let’s work this year for increased prison reform. NO $$ for private prisons, more focus on rehabilitative and restorative programs, and full restoration of rights – voting and more – upon release.
Thanks for your consideration.
Too many crimes are not represented adequately and the accused is often falsely accused. It is time to treat everyone with justice and true representation. Minor crimes are charged against Native people, Black people, Latino people, Asian people, and those who have money and commit even worse crimes are not charged or are treated differently.
I am your voting constituent who, prior to her retirement, has worked as a social worker in a NJ Prison and with the Police Foundation and Justice Department as a Coordinator for the Newark NJ Fear Reduction Program. I know and have observed first hand the failures of the police/prison systems including the brutality of police and guards and the lack of rehabilitation provided to inmates.
I urge you to pass comprehensive sentencing reform and choose healing & accountability over punishment & more prisons.
I support a comprehensive sentencing reform. It is way overdue for the State of Arizona.
